Picture Day

Just a few random pictures from the summer so far. I think I'll be back for awhile. =;)

First Boat Ride of 2008

And I got my first sunburn too. Here are the kids before we set off. It was a great Memorial Day!

Got Wine?

My racks are almost empty.

I'm past spring fever and have moved right into summer fever. I'm ready to go on vacation, swim, sun and fun. For some reason I just can't get my favorite "wine tour" out of my head, we love going to Seneca Lake. We never made it last summer and I'm not sure why but I think we've done it for the 5 or 6 years previous. I'm running out of wine and I'm already thinking what day we can make it up to Seneca this summer. It a good time. Wagner also has a brewery in which you can stand and sample a boat load of beers, gets me silly every time.

However, I know that I will be going back to PA to visit soon so my parents have a pass from bringing me wine from Shade Mountain.

I think I may need to cash in my wine fund jar and get shopping.

Please stop raining

My yard is a mess, my flowers are drowning, and I turned my heat back on. Bah!

I love Spring

I'm in full planting mode. Bill and the kids have paid for every flower, herb and veggie I have wanted over the past week for Mother's Day and I've been having a ball. All I do is fill up a wagon and Bill is right there to handle the rest. It's been a wonderful Mother's Day gift. Besides almost slicing the top of my finger off today because a previous owner seemed to plant glass instead of plants, it's been another wonderful day. To top it off a friend of mine dropped of my favorite purple basil just because she knew I was looking for it.

Relief

Today was the first day in weeks that I could breath a sigh of relief that my busy spell with work is almost over. Being a freelancer means you have to go with the rain and the dry spells and boy has it been raining over here. I see light at the end of the tunnel and today I spent with Brandon and Sienna. It felt good to just have the Mom hat on and play and plant flowers. My kids have been awesome these past couple of weeks playing with each other while I was working. They spent a lot of time with Daddy when he was home and after being locked in my office for 23 hrs this weekend I have to give them a big round of applause. I'm so looking forward to the summer. The calender is filling up and I can't wait for visitors and vacations. I hope to be more faithful with my updates now that I have my head back on. Thanks for hanging with me and the inquiries as to what happened.

Amazement

I really wish I could have gotten a better picture of Sienna's face with the look of amazement after seeing an elephant for the very first time.

One things for sure

Brandon has received some truly wonderful attributes from my husband, his love for music, the outdoors, the water and his rugged good looks being only a few. What he also got was his week stomach. Apparently Brandon won't be helping me clean up cat puke either.

Never Thought

I've been showering with a snake for 3 days now. I can't wait to take it out so it can shrink to it's original size.

Subir

Sienna kept saying this the other day and I had no idea why. She said it as she went up the stairs and when she was trying to get into her crib. Finally I asked Brandon and he said "Mom, don't you know that she's saying Climb in Spanish?" Well, no I didn't. Way to go Dora and Diego.

Ice Cream Playdate

Playdate with great friends! My friend Trish is a brave woman for giving 7 or so kids ice cream cones to run around her house with.

Run Away

If you see me heading towards a line at a grocery store pick a different one because I ALWAYS pick the slowest line.

Today I got behind one lady, one and boy did she have issues. I was behind her for 15 minutes. First she was waiting for something that they didn't have so we had to wait (check out was complete) until someone came to tell her that they didn't have the item. Ok, then not one but two cards were declined, ugh. Then, she had to go out to her car and get her check book, she came in and continued to TRY to write out a check. After forever she hands the check to the check-out girl who asks for her license, back out to her car to bring in her license. Back in, the girl is writing what ever on her check and the addresses don't match, shit already! Over to a manger where they say no not accepted, back over to the lady who has no other way to pay. At this point I'm starting to feel bad but ready to get the hell out at the same time. After a side talk with the woman and 2 other store personnel they accepted her check and off she went.

I should have picked the other line.

*Shaking Head*

Brandon taped the toilet lids together. For what reason I don't know. Apparently he has Bill's sense of humor.

Lots of Wash

You'll very rarely hear my complain about my children and messes. They're good kids and really for the most part have never made a huge mess until today.

I was on the computer and Sienna was next to me playing Bill's keyboard and singing....super cute. She jumps up and said she had to pee, great. She does very well with this, she goes in and does her thing with minimal help from mom. I get up about 30 or so seconds later to go see about the progress and my bathroom has been decorated in poop. Apparently she didn't realize she had to do "that". It's in the potty (yea) it's on the floor (not so good) and it's now all over her. On her legs, on her clothes and then come to find out all over her hands. I couldn't decide what to clean up first but I did pick Sienna. I was helping her off with her clothes and of course to stabilize herself she holds onto me. So now I'm covered in poop. I seriously have no idea what happened b/c I'm pretty sure she actually made it to the potty!? So, off with her clothes and now off with mine and I throw it in the washer (but didn't start it). This is important for later.

She up we go naked except for brandon and I put them in the bath. Were not off to a good morning but we have it under control now. Clean kids, smell good, all dressed so I go and take my shower. I go into my closet to get dressed and the kids follow me in which is normal. I walked out for maybe 15 seconds and Brandon comes running out with what looks like blood all over his arm and hand. Still not dressed I ask him repeatedly what happened because I thought he was hurt when I realize it's paint. Burnt Siena to be exact, ironic huh. Sienna had found a box that I had paint in, and had it everywhere. I'm pretty sure she thought it was lotion. I wash Brandon up quick and take his clothes off which are now covered in paint. So now were both half naked and Sienna has gone back into her room and is now playing perfectly clean. I go into my closet and there's paint on the carpet and nice Jackson Pollock type streaks on the bottom shelves where my shirts are. A few of the T-shirt I just throw out right away but then I notice that the pile of white shirts (I like white T's of every type and have a stack of them b/c I ware them all the time) are streaked with paint too. I take the stack of them and run down to the washing machine to see if I can get the paint out before it dries. Do you see where I'm going with this? Yes, Poopy clothes in the washer which I take out to now wash my shirts in. Ugh.

So now I have wrestled with poop, paint, cat puke and public toilets today and I'm ready for a break. My days really aren't like this but today, well, I think I'm being tested.

We all have our thing

I found this on another blog and loved it.

I forgot

I forgot how many trips to the potty you have to make while potty training...ugh.

Yea!

I haven't changed a poopy diaper in over a week. We're off to a good start.

My computer comes today, I'm so excited!
