Back to life

Today starts the day we all get back to reality and back to work / school / life. I'm ready for it actually. I like routine and I think the kids are ready for it too. So today I have 3 work projects to start on, I need to clear my desk for that. Oh and the toy store that is the kids room needs unpacked.

I also need a new banner. The kids have totally grown tons and tons since those pictures were taken. Need to make a list of things to do.....yes, that sounds like a good idea.

Our Christmas Tree

We decorated our tree last weekend as a family, complete with hot chocolate. Yes I had to remove half the ornaments that we all on the front bottom 4 feet but we had a great time doing it.

Memories

I feel like I'm forgetting so much of their lives, it's going by so fast. I have to make a point to start bringing my camera with me so I can remember the sweetness in my old age or when their teenagers...lol.

Ladies and Gentlemen....

We were playing on the beach the other night and Brandon & Sienna were putting on a show singing and dancing while jumping into a huge pit someone had dug in the sand. They kept announcing themselves. "Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls" and then from Sienna "Birdies and Seagulls"! I love that she was including everyone. =;)

And just because....

Caught the big one

Not exactly what we were hoping for but it put up a huge fight. I wish I would have taken a picture with something next to it so you could see the size....it was huge!

Amish Friendship Bread

Oh the pressure of being responsible for this starter and baking wonderful bread! I baked my first 2 loaves the other day and while it tastes more like coffee cake it's delish! Have to remember to feed it tomorrow. My freezer is going to be full by the holidays. lol Anyone want a starter? I'll save you one next time around. =;)

I think part of the purpose is to go out and make new friends by giving away the starter and the recipe but oh well.

Sleepy Day

Today was just an odd day for me. I slept in after pushing both the kids to go down stairs and wake up Mimi and Pappy. I knew they would give them breakfast. So sometime after 9am I got myself up and started the day already counting down the hours that I would lay down with the kids and take a nap. It was a good nap day too, cloudy and then rainy, perfect. Anyway, napped for 2 hours and still very sleepy. I don't know what's up today. I think it could also be the GIANT Apricot Brandy slush I just had. Early to bed, maybe tomorrow I will be more awake.

6 Random Things....

I was tagged by a few people so here goes.

1). I can go to my closet right now and pull out clothing that I wore in middle school or high school.

2). I'm a pack rat which I get honestly from my parents.

3). I can't start a new work project until my desk is cleaned off.

4). I can't sleep with the tv or radio on.

5). I have my own potters wheel in my shed and have been itching to pull it out. Hope it still works, it's been a few years.

6). I can't stand polish on my finger nails but I don't think there has been a day since my college years where there hasn't been polish on my toes.

Tag to anyone that hasn't done it yet.

Got Wine?

My racks are almost empty.

I'm past spring fever and have moved right into summer fever. I'm ready to go on vacation, swim, sun and fun. For some reason I just can't get my favorite "wine tour" out of my head, we love going to Seneca Lake. We never made it last summer and I'm not sure why but I think we've done it for the 5 or 6 years previous. I'm running out of wine and I'm already thinking what day we can make it up to Seneca this summer. It a good time. Wagner also has a brewery in which you can stand and sample a boat load of beers, gets me silly every time.

However, I know that I will be going back to PA to visit soon so my parents have a pass from bringing me wine from Shade Mountain.

I think I may need to cash in my wine fund jar and get shopping.

Please stop raining

My yard is a mess, my flowers are drowning, and I turned my heat back on. Bah!

I love Spring

I'm in full planting mode. Bill and the kids have paid for every flower, herb and veggie I have wanted over the past week for Mother's Day and I've been having a ball. All I do is fill up a wagon and Bill is right there to handle the rest. It's been a wonderful Mother's Day gift. Besides almost slicing the top of my finger off today because a previous owner seemed to plant glass instead of plants, it's been another wonderful day. To top it off a friend of mine dropped of my favorite purple basil just because she knew I was looking for it.

Relief

Today was the first day in weeks that I could breath a sigh of relief that my busy spell with work is almost over. Being a freelancer means you have to go with the rain and the dry spells and boy has it been raining over here. I see light at the end of the tunnel and today I spent with Brandon and Sienna. It felt good to just have the Mom hat on and play and plant flowers. My kids have been awesome these past couple of weeks playing with each other while I was working. They spent a lot of time with Daddy when he was home and after being locked in my office for 23 hrs this weekend I have to give them a big round of applause. I'm so looking forward to the summer. The calender is filling up and I can't wait for visitors and vacations. I hope to be more faithful with my updates now that I have my head back on. Thanks for hanging with me and the inquiries as to what happened.
